Cushion Refilling Service

Breathe new life into your sofa using Langan's cushion re-filling service. For competitive reasons many suite manufacturers now use a hollow fibre filling, just like an ordinary pillow. After maybe just a few months service your cushions loose their 'bounce'. We use a foam core, selected to provide the degree of firmness you require, wrapped in a layer of Dacron and enclosed in Stockinette. The Dacron provides a pleasing rounded profile and the Stockinette assists with fitting into or removal from your existing cushion covers. A foam insert alone is an incomplete solution as it gives a flat and featureless appearance and, due to its' sticky surface texture, fitting or removing a cover can present an exhausting challenge! In order to provide accuracy of fit and choice of foam to suit your preference this service is currently only available to personal visitors to our shop. Bring your existing covers for us to use as a template. We endeavour to provide a 24 hour service dependant on work-load which can be confirmed at the time of your visit.

Foam for Mattreses, Boat Bunks,Caravans, Motor Homes etc.

Our staff are experienced in advising you on the selection of suitable foam for your application and in cutting complex shapes. Bring us your old cushions, templates or dimensions and we will do the rest.

Mattress 'Toppers'

We currently stock three styles of Mattress Topper. These are the traditional egg-crate profile topper, a soft plain foam sheet, or 'memory foam'. All are nominally two inches thick. Memory foam toppers are also available with a removable washable cover.

Memory Foam Mattresses and Beds.

This 'space-age' material has the characteristic of moulding itself to your shape and equalising pressure over the body. It has been found to improve comfort levels in cases of troublesome hip joints and the like. The memory foam usually forms the top two to three inches of the mattress supported by a firmer layer of foam underneath.

We recommend the 'Sleepshaper' range which has received favourable reviews in independent tests and represents superior value for money compared with more heavily promoted brands. Reconstituted Foam

This is a firm foam which can be used where there is a high localised loading such as kneeling mats, powerboat or motor cycle seats. A recent application was for the base of a Fireman's Pole! Thin sheets have been found to offer valuable benefits as an inter-floor layer for soundproofing in building refurbishments.

Available from stock either cut to size or in sheets generally 2m x 1.5m. and in thicknesses from ' inch to 4 inches.

Closed Cell Foam(Plastazote)

As the name suggests this foam is of a closed-cell construction and therefore, does not absorb moisture. The range of applications is as wide as your imagination but typically it can be used for case linings, boat buoyancy exercise mats etc.

It is not normally suitable for seating purposes as it is too firm and, as standard, not fire-retardant. We carry stocks in sheet sizes of 2m x 1m in thicknesses from 5mm to 100mm in black and whit, and also cut to your requirements.

Furniture Fillings and Accessories

We stock hollow fibre cushions in squares from 10' to 36' and pillows 19' x 28'. We even have heart-shaped cushions for that special person in your life!'..or for that matter special cushions made to order.

We also carry loose hollow fibre in 1kg or 2kg bags, coir, hession, webbing, tacks, springs, needles, adhesives, furniture legs and knobs, non-slip matting for trays and boat tables and Velcro-type tape in sew-on or self-adhesive form from 20-50mm in black, white or beige.

Polystyrene Beads

Have you returned from holiday with a Bean Bag or Pouffe?' Let us fill it for you or provide you with the means to do so. We stock polystyrene beads in bags from one to ten cubic feet and our stockinette tube can be used to form an inner liner.

Polystyrene Modelling Foam

We stock 'Yellofoam' which we have selected for its' small bubble composition which provides as smooth an edge as possible when cut.

Available in approx. sheet sizes of 2.5m x 600mm, 1.25m x 600mm and 625mm x 600mm and thicknesses of 25mm, 50mm and 75mm

Ryobi's concept is to provide a drill in 'Starter Pack' form complete with charger and two batteries.
